Majo’s Morning Meeting – D57

Today’s facilitator for the morning meeting was Majo. She showed us this campaign called Acción MOB, originated in Guatemala that tries to create consciousness on the power of each one of us to change the people that surround us one action at a time. It’s really cool! We also watched some videos, all of them very motivational. Here are the following links:

Majo’s Morning Meeting and Plato’s Apology Dialogue – D49

Today’s morning meeting was facilitated by Majo. She showed us three videos of Michael Stevens’ Youtube channel Vsauce. The first one was, What Color is a Mirror?, the second, YouDon’t Type Alone, and the third one, Whatis Déja Vu?. All of them are excellent; they are entertaining and educational, with many fun facts. Nice done Majo!

Later we clean up our spaces and have some individual work. Then, we had some kind-of Greek memory activity and then Plato’s Apology dialogue. The dialogue was very interesting and insightful, although I don’t think we have achieved a good level of inspection and deepness on the text during our dialogues. Mabe also pointed this out, and we decided to come more prepared to our dialogues, well read and with questions. Oh, and we had Karen Mayeens, Gabriel Calzada’s wife, as a guest. Although she didn’t say anything, her presence was nice.

Euclid’s Propositions (7 – 10) – D46

At 9:30 we circled up to demonstrate this week’s propositions. I was in charge of taking out the papers to chose who was presenting and the first one was Majo for Proposition 7. At first, I thought she was doing it good, but then we realized she wasn’t really prepared and we she stood in front for an hour trying to understand the proposition until she kind-of got it. I assume it was terrible for her, I mean it also happened to me but only for 5 minutes or so not an hour. The good thing was that she realized she needed more preparation and to make a better effort in understanding Euclid. She agreed to start Euclid again from Proposition 1. Then Kata volunteered to make Proposition 7. Javier T. did number 8, Isa did number 9, and Mabe did number 10 (which she wasn’t prepared to do it). There was a lot of feedback, especially in Kata’s and Mabe’s presentations. Isa and Javier did a good job.
